Greetings, Valley View Rotary family and friends!!!
Thank you for everyone that attended last week's program with Lisa Olson. Her Tips from the Stage to Enhance Communication in Real Life made us laugh while also giving us a perspective on making bigger and longer lasting impacts in our community and our world.
If you haven't already done so, the laughs continue on her Facebook page Counter Clockwise. Thank you Peggy for inviting Lisa to share with us!
Please join us this week to hear from Sarah Bradel who will be the new Principal of Northside Elementary. The current principal, Nicki Ells, who has visited and presented to our club in the past will be leading Principals in a new role this next year that perhaps Julie Nelson can share more with us on Wednesday.
Club Survey for Members
The Executive Board is encouraging all members to complete the survey at: https://form.jotform.com/231296001531141. ** 19 Surveys ** have been submitted to date, approximately representing 1/3 of our membership.
This survey asks members for their opinions on Membership Dues and elements pertaining to our weekly meetings. Survey results and feedback are needed to assist the Executive Board with approving next year's budget at our meeting on June 13th.

Election of Zone 29 Member of RI President Nominating Committee 2023-24
The RI Bylaws provide that if there are two or more eligible past directors from any zone who have indicated to the general secretary on 15 April that they wish to serve as a member of the Nominating Committee for RI President, the member (and alternate) shall be elected by the clubs in the zone.
This ballot ends on 15 June*, 11:59 p.m. US/Central. The vote that I cast as Club President must be the result of a vote held at our club’s meeting.
Districts in Zone 29 are: 5580, 5610, 5630, 5650, 5680, 5710, 5950, 5960, 5970, 6000, 6220, 6250 (this is our District), 6270, 6420, 6440, 6450
Please review the profiles and we will vote at our meeting on Wednesday during announcements.
Juneteenth
Juneteenth is a day celebrated in communities across the U.S. each year as the official emancipation of slavery. This summer in La Crosse we are celebrating Juneteenth on Sunday, June 18th in Riverside Park.
Seeking Raffle Items for our Golf Outing Fundraiser
Auction items should have a value of at least $20, but higher is better :)
Prizes for golfers should come in a quantity of 4 (4 players per team), such as 4 gift cards of the same value. A dozen golf balls works well since there are 4 sleeves per box.
Raffle items should be worth at least $100 but again, higher is better ;)
We would like to to have 3 to 5 items with values ranging from $200 to as much as $500. We already have a quilt (value at least $500) and will likely arrange a golf specific item.
College Football, NFL or equivalent tickets are a good draw also!!!
Thank you for your continued support of this fundraiser that generated $9,000 in profits last year that we were able to donate to the Children's Hospital of Tanzania and the La Crosse Boys and Girls Club.
Not a golfer you say... and want to be involved in this amazing charitable experience to help us make an even bigger impact this year? Please see Bob Newberry or me and we will find a way for you to help grow this event!
Lucas Herro
Many members were moved by Lucas' recent presentation to the Club about his journey and desire to return to the Olympics.
Here are some ways to help Lucas: You can make an Online Donation at https://givebutter.com/g4ZEao or send a check to: Lucas M. Herro Supplemental Needs Trust c/o Mike Herro. 533 Eagle Ct. Onalaska, WI 54650.
