Paula Lofstrom, R.N. Founding member of International Health Partners, US Inc., serving as Secretary to the Board, Managing Director and Coordinator, fundraising in the U.S. 6 months a year, hosting teams in Tanzania, 6 months a year. International Health Partners seeks to improve health care for the people of Tanzania by integrating medical knowledge, techniques, and best practices within the East African culture.
We will be honoring these students at our October 15 meeting. LaCrossRoads is an alternative education program run through the School District of La Crosse at both Central and Logan High Schools. Students in this program are considered at risk of not graduating high school - this could be for a number of reasons, including attendance issues, difficult home lives, being disorganized, or mental health challenges. Instead of struggling through a traditional high school schedule (8 hours a day in 8 different classrooms with 8 different teachers), these students learn as a cohort - this allows students to have more support, stability, and flexibility as they work toward graduation. Most students in the program spend the majority of their day taking their classes in the same classroom with the LaCrossRoads Coordinator, and the teachers come to us. We are still part of the greater Logan High School community and participate in all the events offered here.
Pickleball for all skill levels, beginner to more advanced. Paddles and balls will be provided. Three gymnasium courts reserved for our club. Open to family members.
