News from Rotary North

Rotary North has "vacated" the Days Hotel. Our last meeting there was June 22. We loved the room and food but the location was a challenge to membership.

We will resume meeting on Tuesday, July 13 at the WTC Lunda Center. Bell rings at 7:30. Breakfast served prior.

A Note from Pam Culver:

Looking for Gently Used Workout Clothing

We have started a new program at the YMCA "Step in 2 a New U" for low-income, minority and/or at-risk high school students and we need some workout clothing for a few of our young men and women. The program is pairing each student with an adult training partner who will workout with them and help them plan meals and healthy life choices.

We have a number of kids who do not currently own any workout clothing and we are working with very limited funds so I am hoping that between all of us we can come up with some "gently used" workout clothes in all sizes.

  • So please check your closets and your friends' closets for
Sports Bras (M, L, XL, XXL)
Running or Cross Trainer Shoes (any size)
Workout Shorts or pants (M, L, XL, XXL)
Workout tops preferably dry fit or moisture management (M, L, XL, XXL)

We are especially in need of the larger size clothing so if you know anyone who might have something that is still in good shape, please pass this along to them.

You can drop items off at Valley View Rotary Meetings, River City Running Club Sat & Sun runs, Y-La Crosse (Attn: Alison Huppert), Y-North (Attn: Courtney Daniels).

Thanks for your help! Contact me if you have any questions.
